Hangzhou Released a 3-Year Action Plan for the Development of the “City of Animation”

From this year on, Hangzhou will promote the upgrade of the “City of Animation” development from version 1.0 to version 2.0. For this purpose, “the Action Plan for Continuously Promoting the Development of Hangzhou as a ‘City of Animation’ (2018-2020)” (“3-Year Action Plan”) was launched at the right time.

According to the Plan, in the next three years, Hangzhou will become a more “animated” city and give full play to the first-mover advantage of Hangzhou animation, comic and game (ACG) industry, in order to create a future international ACG industry center.  

 

The Plan concretely includes the following content: (1) enlarge China International Cartoon & Animation Festival’s scale, influence and economic benefits, highlight the scalability and inclusiveness of the ACG industry, and promote the supply-side structural reform of this industry through the guidance of CICAF; (2) carry out masterpiece cultivation projects, support original animation and game products, guide the ACG industry towards the direction of city-production integration, accelerate e-ACG industry, and exert efforts to develop large ACG industry platform enterprises that can integrate communication and industrial extension through website, mobile terminal application, technology application as well as other multiple channels; (3) encourage social enterprises to plan and undertake the action plans of “animation + information industry”, “animation + tourism”, “animation + conferences & exhibitions”, “animation + e-commerce”, “animation + finance”, “animation + health”, “animation + fashion”, “animation + high-end equipment”, “animation + characteristic towns”; (4) introduce high-end professionals from all over the world and cultivate the ACG new generations; (5) strengthen the international exchange and cooperation by carrying out the plan of “animation + the Belt & Road”, “animation + Chinese culture” and “animation + electronic sports” to improve the international influence of Hangzhou, the “City of Animation”.
