The signing up for the 2018 Golden Monkey Award is drawing to a close. The first Review round will begin in Mid-March.

The contest has attracted a lot of attention since it was held. Recently, Xinhua News Agency sent a series of short films, Our Confidence, to participate in the competition, including The Right Way of the World, Eternal Truth, All Hearts Turned to It, and The Soul of China. It was the great work of the state authoritative media dedicated to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Eternal Youth and The Soul of China adopted the paper folding animation and freehand Chinese painting modes to illustrate lofty themed, positive energy works. They complemented each other to make an impression. 

The Golden Monkey Award is an important brand activity of CICAF. It is a professional animation award jointly created by CICAF Executive Committee and China Radio International, under the guidance of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. It is a major professional tournament of CICAF concerned and participated by domestic and foreign cartoon professionals. It aims to discover and reward excellent anime works and talents through evaluations. As an important event of CICAF, The Golden Monkey Award solicits works all year round, and reviews them at fixed periods. It collects entries from domestic and foreign animation companies, animation schools, and independent producers. Internationally renowned animation companies including Walt Disney, Pixar ,DreamWorks , Nickelodeon, Viacom in the US; and major art colleges in the world such as GOBELINS, l'école de l'image in the France,Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins in the UK , California College of the Arts in the US, take “Golden Monkey Award” as an important prize to participate in overseas events and march into China. Each year, the Golden Monkey Award organizing committee received nearly 1,000 excellent cartoon works from home and abroad. Internationally renowned masterpieces, such as Kung Fu Panda, Toy Story, and Up,had taken part in the event. 

The Golden Monkey Award organizing committee has worked with a larger number of internationally renowned animation schools providing excellent authors with scholarships and overseas study opportunities. It will create a series of more professional activities for publicity, promotion, and business docking. The form of evaluation will also be more integrated with international standards.An online review system will be put into use and the online registration will gradually be realized.
